Today, I thought I’d translate a poem that I originally wrote in spanish (see below). It’s tough translating poetry, because you often lose the rhythm/meaning, but I tried.
Ode To Your Lips
Delicate
Like the petals
Of a rose
Tender
Like the wings
Of a bird
Spectacular
Like a rainbow
In the winter
Divine
Like the murmur of a mother
To her child
Heavenly
Like the sea lit up
By a full moon
Unforgettable
Like watching the sky
In the light of dawn
Firm
Like this love
That overwhelms my senses
Your lips
The sweet escape
That leaves me breathless

Oda A Tus Labios
Delicados
Como los pétalos
De una rosa
Tiernos
Como las alas
De una paloma
Sumos
Como un arco iris
En el invierno
Divinos
Como el arrullo de una madre
A su chiquillo
Celestiales
Como el mar prendido
De luna llena
Inolvidables
Como ver el cielo
En la víspera
Firmes
Como este amor
Que repleta los sentidos
Tus labios
La morada bendita
Donde yacen mis suspiros…

you’re welcome! keep writing! 🙂
That doesn’t look like a tough translation for you Miss Lilian 🙂 Brilliant! And I admire you more because Spanish is your first language. 🙂
Thanks! I tried translating a few poems before and sucked, but this one was simpler. 😉
