Son of a Fucking Blog…

I’m going to pretend that I haven’t been neglecting this blog for the last two months, and just jump right into what’s wrong with it. Has anyone else been having issues with WordPress? If I go straight to my home page, it shows me as NOT being logged in. But if I type in http://www.wordpress.com, then I am signed in, no problem. When I go to read someone else’s blog, 50% of the time, it shows me as NOT signed in. The little bar at the top is non-existent, and when I try to sign in through the comments section, it gives me an error message, “Sorry, your comment could not be posted.”

WHAT. THE. FUCK? Is it because I’ve neglected my blog for so long? Do I no longer deserve to be able to read, like or comment on other posts? Is it just me, or has this been happening to you too? I hope it’s happening to you too. It’s so annoying! How am I supposed to get inspired, when I can’t even be properly logged in? Damn you, WordPress. You son of a fucking blog.

Anyway, I have some news to share. But I feel like that deserves its own, less boring post, so I’ll save that for some other time. My news is both exciting and annoying, fun and scary, and a tad bit surprising. And I don’t think I know what I’ve gotten myself into. Bit of a cliffhanger, huh? Oh, you don’t care? That’s…fine.

I predict that approximately 1.5 bloggers will stumble upon this craptastic post. That’s 5 minutes of your life you’ll never get back. You’re welcome. (I’m sorry.)

I Remember When…

I remember a different time…

A time when laundry was done on a regular basis. A time when the dishes wouldn’t sit, neglected and dirty, waiting for me to wash them, and the vacuum cleaner actually picked up dust, rather than just collecting it. A time when the computer just stood there looking pretty, whereas now it might explode any second from overuse. A time when I would read a book to pass the time. A time when I would “consider” exercising, whereas now I don’t even think about it.

Now my time consists of…

Checking my email for WordPress notifications, opening WordPress.com, checking my notifications, visiting the blogs of those who liked or commented, replying to comments (if any), checking my reader for updates, reading as many posts as I can, commenting when necessary, then refreshing and finding out there are 8 new posts that must be read. Then I take a break, open up Microsoft Word and think about what to write. Starts out well until I lose my focus. Then I open up WordPress again, visit a few new blogs, go back to my reader, find out there are several more updates, and rinse and repeat. That’s my time now. Not nearly as diverse as before, but definitely much more fulfilling.

There’s always time for chocolate though…

Chocolate makes me so happy, I could die. Well no, I don’t WANT to die. I love chocolate, let’s leave it at that.

I totally just BS-ed my way through this post. What? I’m behind on reading, give me a break. 😀

Sometimes, I Wish I Could Hug You…

Hello lovely people. I wasn’t planning on doing another awards post so soon, but (and I say this as humbly as possible) I’ve recently been nominated again, more times than I would have expected. So I figured I should do this before I lose track. Geeze, why are you all wasting your time reading my blog? I’m kidding! Please don’t leave. 😦

In all seriousness, this month I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger award and the One Lovely Blog award three times. (I really hope this post doesn’t come off sounding conceited, because that’s not the case at all. Pinky swear.) I was so surprised when I was nominated the FIRST time (thank you again Chris and Lillian!)…and shocked when it happened again so shortly after. At first, I thought it’d be okay to just update my original posts with the additional thank-you’s but now that I think about it, that seems kind of lazy, doesn’t it? So, let me fix that!

Thank you to Lizzie of Confessions of An Unpaid Intern and Livvy at nerdybookreviews for nominating for the Versatile Blogger award. I really appreciate it! And thank you to She’s Arab and Good2begone for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog award. Very much appreciated!

I’ll get to the rules in a second. Luckily, most blog awards seem to have the same rules! So lazy people like me can combine them all into one post. Oh, but wait, did you think I was done? Not quite. And you know why? Because you are all awesome, amazing people. Yesterday, people were not thinking straight and as a result, I was nominated twice for the Very Inspiring Blogger award. I know, now I’m gonna have to work on improving my blog so I don’t let anyone down. So…much…pressure…ahhh! (I’m kidding. Please don’t think I’m being ungrateful. ;))

Thank you to juleesaninja and simonet7 for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blogger award. Not to sound like a broken record, but I really appreciate it!

Despite the fact that I’m now glued to this computer 24/7 (bad for your eyes), and I don’t get any cooking or cleaning done (bad in general), I am so happy to have discovered this lovely WordPress world! I only wish there were more than 24 hours in a day because there’s just not enough time to read all the amazing blogs out there! Thank you to everyone who reads my nonsense, and thank you to everyone who has nominated me. Here are the rules, which apply to all three awards. Funny how that works.

1. Add the award to your blog.
2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you and include a link to their blog.
3. Mention 7 random things about yourself.
4. List the rules.
5. Nominate 15 other bloggers and let them know about the award.

7 Random Things About Myself

(I’m only doing 7 total, not 7 for EACH award because, let’s face it, I’m not that interesting.)

1. I’m weird. Oh shucks, you knew that already? Oh well.
2. It’s easier to write how I feel than to say it. I should work on that.
3. I eat way too much junk food. But we’re all gonna die one day anyway, right?
4. I watch too many reruns. It could be an episode I’ve seen 215 times, but I’ll still watch it.
5. I can’t stand watching the news because it’s sickening what this world has come to.
6. English is technically my second language, but you could never tell.
7. I love the “Schedule” button on WP, it’s quite helpful.

Nominations

And now for the nominations. (I’m trying not to nominate the same people as last time…spreading the love!) Now, because I’m a lazy person rebel, I’m going to nominate 5 people for each award, which will bring me to a total of 15 (right?). Please know that I think you’re all worthy of every award out there, but I thought it’d be easier to do it this way. To me, the only difference between each award is the name, but the thought/meaning is the same. You all rock! Keep on doing what you do! Thanks again!
