Are you a snob? I sure hope not, because if you are, you probably won’t enjoy this post. I would just like to know one thing. What makes anyone think that they are superior to everyone else? When I say superior, I’m not talking about in the workforce, where there are obviously different positions and levels of authority. I’m talking about people who go through life thinking they should be put on a pedestal, while everyone else should be kissing their feet. People who only associate with others of the same class, ignoring or talking down to anyone “beneath” them. I can’t imagine living my life as a rude, obnoxious prick who expects everyone to cater to my every need. News flash: it doesn’t matter what you do for a living, how much money or property you own, or who your family is. We all came into this world the same way and we’re all leaving it the same way…with nothing. Your fancy car, your enormous mansion, all the money in the bank, none of that is going with you. At the end of the day, the only thing that’s yours is the 6-foot deep plot at the cemetery, and even that’s not really yours. So maybe all the snobs in the world should spend less time with their noses up in the air, and more time treating people like human beings, who deserve kindness and respect. Having a kind, generous heart is worth a million times more than all the money in the world. Money can only buy you temporary things, but the impression you leave on people can last a lifetime.
Whoa, does this shit sound preachy? Crap, that’s not what I was going for. Damn, I almost made it through a whole post without cursing. Fuck.
~Lily~

I couldn’t agree with you more!!!! Had me in stitches at the end 😀
Thanks! I’m glad. 😀
Ahahah I really enjoyed reading this post Lily. I’m always surprised when people can be so disrespectful and rude to others. I think at some point we’re all guilty of doing it at least unconsciously but it’s no excuse to treat people poorly. It’s really hard to understand people like that, especially when you’re not like that all and yes impressions you leave can last a lifetime. I don’t get the whole “Yes I’m privileged therefore I get to be better than you in the world attitude” like you said you don’t own any of those things and you’re most certainly not going to pack all of your money with in you in a coffin. Sometimes I really do wonder why people can’t just get along. Great post!
Thanks Savindi! Yeah, it’s one thing to be rude once in a blue moon because you’re having a bad day. But there are people go their whole lives talking down to people, and that’s just not cool! We’re all people, we should all be considered equals. I really think that some people believe they can pack all their prized possessions in their coffin, lol. Oh well. Glad you enjoyed. 😉
It does interest me people’s self aggrandisment for no apparent reaon other than delusion on their parts. Health and happiness will alway be the key lodestones of all our lives for all time. Great post as always (isn’t prick a swear word though!)
I know, I can’t imagine living like that! Health and happiness are definitely most important.
And oh no, IS prick a swear word? I think it’s a nicer version of asshole, lol. Glad you enjoyed. 😉
Hmmmm….that’s true. We do go in and out of this world with nothing. So, in the end, what’s the point? Oh cruel world!…..What’s the point?……Why?……WHY?…..Hahaha just kidding. Thought I’d try some suicide humour. It’s not that funny.
Haha. Oh man. I can’t imagine if I was actually responsible for someone’s depression/suicide attempt. Jeez, blogging can be dangerous…who knew? 😉
LOL
It’s a real pleasure to find someone who can think like that
I hate snobs; I think they’re just not as good as the rest of us. HAHAHAHAHA! See what I did there??!! HAHAHAHAHA! Oh, man!
Anyway, I always associated snobbery with ignorance. I don’t see how one can experience life and its humblings and still feel arrogant. I really don’t.
Lol, I see what you did there. Funny man.
You’re right, snobs are beyond ignorant. It must be really sad to go through life that way. Oh well, at least us non-snobs are experiencing life to the fullest. 🙂
LOL! This post had me in stitches, Lily. I’ve known and have worked with the biggest snobs in the world. Most of them are insecure idiots who want you to think they’re better than you. That never washes with me and putting them back in their box is something I truly enjoy 😀
I’m so glad! Ahhh, you’re right, most of them probably are extremely insecure and plain ignorant. Stupid snobholes! Haha, putting them back in their box…I like the sound of that. 😉
Shit! So close.
Damnit! 😉
The sad thing is, most of these snobs don’t even realize they’re snobs (or they’re in deep, DEEP denial). I always think though, that what goes around comes around so those people will meet karma at some point I think. Or maybe I’m just trying to make myself feel better….
Arrogance + ignorance makes for a really really bad combination. But I do completely agree with Byronic Man that snobs are definitely not as good as the rest of us. Hah. 😀
That is sad if they don’t even realize how they treat others! But yeah, I HOPE karma comes to get those people. Not to be mean or anything… 😉 Ah, arrogant and ignorant, two good words I can’t believe I didn’t mention in the post! Haha, we are better than those snobs, and saying that totally doesn’t make us one… 😀
People like that just irritate the living daylights out of me. My poor wife had a job in east Cobb county about a year ago and had to deal with people like this on a daily basis. I’m glad I work in a place where I can tell someone what they can do with themselves when they approach me like that.
I know, they are so unpleasant to deal with. Especially at work, where you’re often required to suck it up and deal with them. At least you can tell them to shove off, that must be nice, lol.
People used to think I was snobbish in school because I never talked to anyone. Turns out I was actually, painfully, debilitatingly shy. But it came across as superior, because I wasn’t friendly. I was just scared shitless of interacting with the rest of the population.
That doesn’t really have anything to do with your post, which is about ACTUAL snobs, but I always think of that whenever anyone talks about snobs. Sorry . . . I’ll now return you to your regular programming.
Haha, you make a good point though! It’s not fair when people who aren’t snobs get judged as snobs just because they don’t talk to anyone. And I had the same problem. I was painfully shy, but rather than being thought of as a snob, people thought I was just evil…literally…someone once voted me as the person most likely to blow up the school. Just because I was super quiet and shy. So if we’ve learned anything today, it’s that people suck, lol.
